Team Romania – Profile
Our stories ↓

Our story starts in Târgu Jiu, where we spend our spare time among the sculptures of Brâncusi, the iconic name connected to our city. Despite the cultural heritage still visible today, the city is in a former coal mine region Jiului Valley, with so many challenges addressed to us all, to reinvent and find solutions now, for a better future.

Thanks to our passion and curiosity for technology each of us found the world of robotics as being a magical place where we can build upon our dreams and have the power for new dreams. We’ve been involved for few years in FIRST Tech Challenge in Romania, and we now can see this STEM program really helped each of us be more in tune to the ideas of the future, jobs of the future and technology at work for a better world. Our scope is we look for as many solutions as possible to solve various problems that constantly affect us, to discover how we can improve our lifestyle with the help of our passion and knowledge.

One aspect that defines us and made us be the team we are today, maybe this is one of our secrets, is the possibility and openness we all have for a close friendship, which helped all the time. We are a family, and we support each other no matter what.

We understand how lucky we were to get to be in a robotic team, so we try making STEM fields known in our community, throughout open public activities, projects and media exposures, for more kids to look for developing their potentials in robotics.

We are honored for the opportunity to represent ROMANIA at the 2022 FIRST Global Challenge and will try to give our best. We are looking forward to the meeting in Geneva, to make new friends and learn from each other!

Taerel Radu

My passions for foreign languages and science are the two things which define me. I see they are so well connected. I was looking to provoke myself, to push the limits and to bring challenges; in the national and international Olympiads and competitions I’ve participated in I managed to have from one year to another better and better results and gained helpful experience. I like to relax playing chess and I am a LEGO collector. Today I speak as TEAM Romania Captain.

Vulpe Theodor

I’m attracted to everything that means technology, my curiosity since childhood made me what I am today. Programming and video editing are currently my two activities I invest time in. Thanks to them, I’ve learned to pay much more attention to details. And I relax with music, which brings moments of inspiration in what I do.

Tudorescu Daniel

My credo is “everything is possible”. I am a natural born positive imaginative person, having ideas, plans and projects to look for. I like to learn physics and apply what I discover. One of my hobbies these days is creating websites. This way, I not only learn more about design but also build over the ideas that come in my mind.

Petreus David

For me, science and nature work perfectly together. I like to experiment as much as possible, to be in touch with practical things and discoveries. I find freely expressing myself both in the world of computers and in the outdoors activities. Moreover, video games are the ones that challenge me to think as logically as possible. And I found they helped me so much in the robotic challenges.

Matei Daria

I know myself being well connected with my colleagues, open to help others and willing to learn as well. And I find now, and it’s not a surprise anymore for me and my friends, theater being one of my passions, with first attempts since childhood. Thanks to this art, I have become more creative. At the same time, I develop my creativity through writing and photography. My team motivates and helps me exceed my limits. → → → →
